The Past Simple tense is used to talk about completed actions in the past. These actions often happened at a specific time, even if the time is not mentioned.

STRUCTURE

POSITIVE:
(+) SUBJECT + VERB (Past simple) + COMPLEMENT.

NEGATIVE:
(-) SUBJECT + AUXILIAR DID + NOT + VERB (Infinitive) + COMPLEMENT.

INTERROGATIVE:
(?) AUXILIAR DID + SUBJECT + VERB (Infinitive) + COMPLEMENT?
