Verb TO BE

The verb "to be" is an essential verb in English used to describe identity, characteristics, states, and locations. It has different forms depending on the subject and tense.

Present Simple:
Am → I am (I'm)
Is → He/She/It is (He's, She's, It's)
Are → You/We/They are (You're, We're, They're)

Examples:
I am a student.
She is happy.
They are at school.

Past Simple:
Was → I/He/She/It was
Were → You/We/They were

Examples:
He was tired.
We were friends.

Future Simple:
Will be for all subjects.

Example:
She will be here soon.

The verb "to be" is also used for questions and negatives:
Are you ready? / No, I am not.
Was she there? / No, she was not (wasn’t).
